6. Place the switch on the remote
receiver to “REMOTE” to enable the hand-held remote or wall
thermostat functions. Follow manufacturers instructions provided
with the device for operational instructions. Note: The pilot
must be lit, both the control knob (at the top of the stove)
and the ON/OFF toggle switch (on the side of the stove) must
be “ON”, and the remote receiver must be on “remote” to enable
the remote functions.
7. You may simply place the receiver on the hearth near
or under the stove. If you wish to wall-mount the receiver
you may extend the wire leads up to a maximum of 30' total
using a 16-gage wire. A faceplate has been included with
your remote for a finished look.
8. Please call Woodstock Soapstone Company at 1-800-866-4344
for assistance with the installation of the remote control
unit.
OPERATION
1. Check that the pilot is lit and turn the Gas control
knob to the “ON” position. The pilot can be seen at the right
side of the logset in front of the small, partial log. If
it is not lit, follow the previous instructions for lighting
the pilot.
2. Put the “ON/OFF” Rocker Switch to the “ON” position.
3. You must select one of the following modes on the Remote
Control Receiver to light the fire:
a. The “ON” mode will bypass the remote transmitter functions
and light the fireplace directly.
b. The “REMOTE” mode will enable the remote transmitter
or wall thermostat functions. In this mode the remote transmitter
must be turned “ON”. When the temperature of that location
falls below the setting of the thermostat, built into the
remote transmitter, the fireplace will light.
4. Follow the instructions provided with the device for
model-specific thermostat and timer operation instructions.
TROUBLESHOOTING
There are only three major problems you are likely to encounter
with these two remote controls:
(1) dead or incorrectly installed batteries,
(2) defective or incorrect wiring, and
(3) a defective device (remote control or receiver). Remember,
there are batteries in both the remote or wall thermostat
and the receiver. You must check both batteries.
1. Make sure receiver batteries are installed properly.
If one battery is installed backward, the receiver will not
operate in remote mode. There are four AA-size 1.5 ALKALINE
batteries in the receiver. Be sure the batteries are good
- output of 5.3 volts or more. New batteries will have an
output of 6.0 to 6.2 volts.
2. Next, make sure that the batteries in the wall thermostat
or remote are properly installed and in good condition.
•The wall thermostat uses two 3V lithium
button cell batteries.
•The remote uses two AAA-size 1.5 ALKALINE
batteries
•As mentioned in #1, whichever control you
use, the receiver will require four AA-size 1.5 ALKALINE
batteries.
Note: In the wall thermostat, 1 button cell battery operates
the LCD screen and the other operates the radio frequency
signal. If the button cell battery that operates the radio
frequency signal is low or defective, the LCD screen may
be fine but the unit may not be sending a signal to the receiver.
Be sure to check both button cell batteries. |
