Woodstock Change Out = Cleaner Air & Big Saving

“ Only had the stove a week and it already outperforms my old steel stove & pellet stove.” Mr. Fischer, Fireview Owner, NH

The idea behind a change out is to stop the use of non-EPA certified wood stoves and replace them with cleaner burning and more efficient certified stoves.

Why replace a functioning wood stove?
  • Reduce Pollutants
  • Improve Indoor Air Quality
  • Increased Appliance Efficiency (use less wood!)

Older stoves, that were built before the EPA established emission standards for wood burning appliances, consume large quantities of wood and create tons of smoke and very fine particulate pollution (PM 2.5). In areas where there is an abundance of these older stoves in use, air quality can suffer greatly. Long-term exposure to these pollutants poses serious health risks, including heart disease, chronic bronchitis, and more frequent asthma attacks.

"We have had the stove (Fireview) for 5 years and the difference between my previous cast iron stove and your soapstone model is night and day.  We use it as our primary heat source in our 2000 sq ft home, and now we actually enjoy being snowed in or losing power.  I have rekindled a fire from coals 3 days old!  Thanks again for a great product."
-Mr.Knobel, Fireview Owner, NE

More and more areas of the country experience “Burn Bans” due to poor air quality. During these periods only EPA certified wood stoves should be used for heat. Indoor air quality is also adversely affected while burning older stoves with no emissions control.  Modern stoves can reduce toxic air pollution by as much as 70% while increasing efficiency 50% over older non-certified wood stoves according to the EPA. Not only are they cleaner burning, they are far more economical to operate because they use less wood. “Changing out one inefficient wood stove is equivalent to the PM 2.5 emission reduction as taking five diesel buses off the road.”
(See www.epa.gov/burnwise.)

“ The Keystone stove replaced a Vt. Castings Defiant. It burns less wood, burns longer and radiates stronger. “ -Mr. Arman, Keystone Owner VT

"I purchased your Keystone model wood stove last year and wanted to write to tell you about how it well it worked last winter. To put in perspective, in the winter of 2008-09 with my old stove, I burned 3 cords of wood and 375 gallons of heating oil.  This winter (’09-’10) I burned the same amount of wood, but due to the Keystone’s design and long efficient burn time, I rarely had to use my furnace.  I only burned 75 gallons of oil; 80% less!  At a going rate of about $2.75 a gallon for heating oil, this amounts to a $825 savings over last year.  If this trend continues, the Keystone will have paid for itself in two years!" -Eric Dormondy, Keystone Owner, NH

The craftsmen at Woodstock Soapstone build wood stoves that are among the cleanest burning and most efficient certified stoves available today. Our wood stoves are far below the EPA mandated emissions level of 4.1 grams/hour for catalytic wood stoves. Particulate emission output of our wood stoves ranges from 1.3 to 3.5 grams/hr, and tested efficiency ratings from 75.8% to 80.9%, depending on the model. We live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of our country. Our commitment to producing such clean burning and efficient stoves is rooted in the fact that we enjoy this wonderful environment and wish to preserve it for future generations to enjoy as well.

To that end, Woodstock Soapstone Co. is offering you a cash savings to change out your old non-certified wood stove. As part of our Pick up & Save Sale, we’ll pay you $200 for your old smoke dragon, and have it responsibly recycled, when you bring it in to us and purchase one of our beautiful, clean burning, wood stoves. When combined with the Off-Season savings and pick up credit you could save up to $800!!! You save big, contribute to a cleaner environment, and enjoy the warmth and beauty of some of the best stoves available today. For more information please call us at 1-800-866-4344.

“ When we received our soapstone stove we were skeptical that it would do the job older, larger and conventional stove did. We were pleasantly surprised that not only did it keep our home toasty warm, but we used less wood. Plus it looks beautiful! “
-Mrs.Young, Fireview Owner TN

"This past Fall we visited your showroom and had a tour of your assembly area.  We ordered our stove as soon as we got home and couldn't be happier.  The stove uses a lot less wood than our old one and takes up less space!  It's also nice to see the fire through the glass.  The glass on our old one never stayed clean.  This stove is also much easier to operate than our old one." -Dave & Karen Ferguson, Keystone Owner NY
