We are offering pre-production prices for the IDEAL STEEL Hybrid for the next several months (see below).  We won’t actually begin shipping IDEAL STEEL Hybrids until June, for one simple reason:  it’s still cold and we haven’t quite finished with Beta testing yet.
Our Beta testers have provided invaluable and important feedback, which we have used to strengthen and improve our overall design.  We’ll describe many of these changes on our blog next week.  We are rapidly approaching our target 40 cord minimum for beta field testing. We’ll then personally inspect most, if not all, of the beta stoves before we begin shipping in June.


We can’t sell our beta stoves to our testers, because they aren’t technically EPA approved.  I’m not sure that we can even give them away without violating EPA regulations.  Plus, we think our production stoves are much better, and we don’t want our beta testers to go on using products that we think are below production specifications and/or cannot be easily upgraded.  So we’ll make new stoves available to beta testers at huge discounts – up to 50% off.


We expect to launch another beta testing program this fall for the next GearheadTM  Hybrid, which we are already working on.  More on this next week.  (Get ready Dennis!)
